Wisconsin Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Rehabilitation services are provided by the Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired (OBVI) to help individuals who are blind or visually impaired to achieve their own goals of independent living. OBVI staff visit individuals in their homes, conduct group trainings, and teach techniques and technologies for use in daily living (home management, personal care, Orientation & Mobility, and communications). These specialized skills allow individuals to adapt and adjust to vision loss, enabling them to live as independently as possible.

Wisconsin Protection and Advocacy

Disability Rights Wisconsin is a private non profit organization which was founded in 1977. Designated by the Governor to ensure the rights of all state citizens with disabilities through individual advocacy and system change, DRW is part of a national system of federally mandated independent disability agencies. DRW is completely independent of government and the disability service system in order to be free of any conflicts of interests which would undermine our capacity to advocate vigorously on behalf of the human and legal rights of people with disabilities.

Women for a Healthy Environment

We are a representation of women from western Pennsylvania. Some of us are community volunteers; some of us represent concerned non-profit organizations; and some of us represent area foundations and corporations; all of us are interested in making western Pennsylvania as strong and healthy as it can be. Women for a Healthy Environment focuses on educating the general public on issues associated with food and consumer product safety, including sources of possible exposure to environmental toxins. We also collaborate with like-minded organizations to raise awareness on various water quality and air quality issues in our region.
